The reason that people can’t hear distortion is that there is NO real "standard hearing test."Huh? People most certainly can hear distortion, and that ability has nothing to do with standardized testing.

As a person who majored in experimental psych, I can state that the only real studies of hearing are by the government to determine their needs ...You might want to get out of academia and into the real world.
