AR3 speakers what is best finish walnut or blonde?

I have a pair of AR3 speakers that were birch stained ugly gloss mahogany in bad condition but sanded down to bare wood now in very nice condition ready for finish. What would be the best finish to use? Walnut , clear finish would be Blonde wood or Mahogany ? Any suggestions? Speakers function perfectly by the way.
