Universal player replacement for Cary 303/100

Has anyone done a comparison on redbook cd between any of the universal players and the Cary 303/100? I'm looking at the Onkyo SP1000 ro the Marantz Dv9500. Would I lose much on redbook going from the Cary to one of these players?

In short yes. I am an Onkyo and Marantz dealer and they still don't play CD's that well. If you can, keep 2 transports, if you can't, check out the Arcam DVD players (any of them.) They have a strong influence from DCS.
