It’s good. I like it. I read where his vocals on Circle were ‘saturated’. Maybe, a little, but not very noticeable to me. A bit more ‘laid back’ studio vibe.
Now, I do have a soft spot for his first, ‘12 String Blues’ (only 1,000 copies, so I consider myself lucky, and purchased it used way back in the day, cheap). The SQ is actually pretty good for being recorded in a coffee shop, but there is an energy Leo has live that is hard to replicate in the studio. That’s part of it, plus he has a great sense of humor, especially with his audience. All that said, I’m happy to have both.
I saw him in a small club in the mid 70’s, and it was incredible. You don’t get a real sense for his 12 string talent until you see him at work. I sat there astounded trying to figure out how he did what he did with only 10 fingers.
