A little under budget but a strong value in terms of the quality of the DAC, check out the Canor CD 2.10.  Awesome DAC in it and a good transport.  

Don't forget the CD 1,10 , their top player!

The 2.10 has better specs and a better chip. The 1.10 is mechanically the better unit but the DAC doesn't have the incredible specs of the 2.10.
