Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Holy crap man, that Mahler 9th was amazing. The Adagio grabs you by the throat, gut, an heart, and doesn’t let you ignore it until the music finishes. What an incredible work.

My friends had this back in the day, but I had never purchased it.

It's A Beautiful Day - S/T. Capitol reissue 1970, originally 1969

That guy, David LaFlamme (sp) was quite a good musician I think.   Hope you enjoyed it.  Sort of progressive.  Very period.

I did indeed. Had not heard it all the way through since the 70’s. Brought back a lot of memories.

Unfortunately I don’t think that band got a fair shake, but was under bad management. Same manager the Airplane had, and who were prying themselves from when It’s A Beautiful Day hired the guy. He actually wouldn’t allow them to perform in S.F. for quite a while.
