Grado Statement 3--any experience?

My Statement 1 is reaching the end of its stylus life, and I am considering whether to trade it in for the current version, a Statement 3, or get it retipped.  I'd be grateful to hear of any experience with a Statement 3 or with getting a Grado wood-body retipped.  Thank you.

Do not retip, upgrade with Grado or buy another cartridge from different manufacturer.

Stylus tip mounted with press-fit method, retippers can only glue a new tip.

Thank you, but the stylus on the Statement 1 is boron -- does Grado press-fit a stylus in a boron cantilever? That seems implausible. I had thought that the form of boron used in cantilevers is extremely hard and not amenable to press-fitting. Is this incorrect?
You’re right, I just checked online and here is a picture from another member on vinyl engine. I’m surprised about Boron cantilever.

I was a bit confused about it because of the LP Gear, on their picture it’s definitely not Boron and definitely a press-fit. But when it comes to LP Gear site there are always so much misinformation about everything.

Anyway, do not retip it, stay with the manufacturer and get their warranty and support, upgrade to the next model.
