Wadia ?

MY Wadia 16 was being repaired by Wadia. I was told yesterday that it cannot be fixed. My dealer is offering to sell me a new 581 which can play SACD at a very 'reasonable' price. My dealing with Wadia for the past 3 months have not been positive.
I need your help. Is it worth investing in another Wadia product? Is Wadia financially stable? Has anyone heard or know of the sound quality of the new palyer?
Any response would be appreciated.

Some of the older players have lasers that are no longer supported by the Laser OEM (Sony). The suspension of these lasers die of old age, even on the shelf while in Sony stock.

The short story.... it's not Wadia!

I would like to let everyone know that my Wadia 16 has been repaired by Wadia. Keith at Wadia responded to my initial thread. And a couple months later, my dealer told me that the player is on its way back from Wadia. Perhaps the change in ownership has improved customer service. I have not seen the bill yet, but my initial irritation is gone. The 16 is an older player, and parts failure is quite normal. My original comment was pointed at after sales service, and not so much about product reliability. In any case, thanks for your comments.
