Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!

Sorry about coming in from left field; back on July 23, I wrote:
Stager Silver Solids. Quote from Marc Stager:

Anyway, for me, in my system, the honeymoon is over with Stager silver solids.

My wife is out of town, so without adult supervision, I reinserted my old Synergistic Research Alpha Sterling interconnects and I am glad I did.

Better bass and more texture throughout the audio range with the Alpha Sterlings. I guess I mistook the treble edge of the silver as providing more resolution. Not true.

Anyway, still want to try more interconnects. Anybody out there who has can suggest a step forward from Alpha Sterlings?

Trying to mate with PS PMT, Mystique DAC, CJ 17LS2 , DNA-500,
and Thiel CS5i's.

Thanks for listening,

Good to see you here again. Agreed, Thiel Owners must use caution with Silver cables/cords for the example as above.  Thank You for sharing the SR versus Stager Silver solids comparison.
Talk about cables/cords here anytime!

Happy Listening!
Hi Guys. I claim no knowledge of silver interconnects, but would like to pass on some relevant Thiel experience. During the development of the 3.7, Jim and company compared all the potential wires and configurations for internal hookup. They settled on solid copper in twisted pairs as sounding better than silver plated.

Relatedly, in developing the in-house drivers, silver plated voice coils lost out to solid copper in the lower ranges and copper plated aluminum in the tweeters.

ScanSpeak tells me that conclusion is widespread. The Goertz flat wire that Jim settled on for speaker cables was copper. Knowing that silver is a better conductor, any comment I might have would be conjecture. We must also remember that Jim was extremely value oriented, so the high price of silver would have weighed heavily in his value equation.
In case anyone is interested, TMR has listed a morado pair of CS 3.6 for $1399 + $399 for shipping to contiguous US. Condition listed as 8 out of 10.  Serial Number: 3961, 3962  https://tmraudio.com/speakers/floorstanding-speakers/thiel-cs-3-6-floorstanding-speakers-morado-pair...
