used Sonus Faber repair (again)

Sonus Faber warns won't assist with repair of speakers not purchased by original buyer. Have any second owners out there had any actual experience trying to get their speakers repaired? If could not produce proof that the speakers were originally purchased from an authorized dealer, did this matter?
