"Lights off, candle burning."

I love that.  I think I will do just that on Saturday night.  My wife is gone for the weekend so it's just me and the dog.  I'll make it a "spacey" night.

Another new arrival purchased with confidence based solely on a recommendation on this thread.
Rickie Lee Jones / It’s like this

great record! Thanks!! Though not a fan of the 45 rpm 12”!   2 or 3 songs a side? Makes me get off my butt too often Just as I’m sinking into an audio induced altered state, usually.
Also on tonight’s bill;

The Howard Roberts Quartet / H.R. is a Dirty Guitar Player

The Howard Roberts Quartet / This is Howard Roberts. Color Him Funky

great f’n guitar player, great combo, great albums!
I approve,

The Smithereens / Especially For You

Screaming Trees / Sweet Oblivion

Another Warner / Reprise / et all compilation “loss leader”

Back in ‘71 $2.00 sent to Burbank could procure  a three disc boxed compilation of the wide swath of talent currently signed to Warner and their  affiliates.

These “samplers” would be peppered with a song or two that alone, might entice you to buy the entire set.

my introduction to a lot of great music, raised as I was in the suburban wonderland  of the puget sound region.

Of this 6 side showcase, I’m currently engaged by disc 3.  Sides 3 & 4.  Kinks apeman to gratefully dead, van Morrison, little Richard, Arlo Guthrie, beach boys, young bloods, etc.,

it cuts a wide swath. Very nostalgic.
@sourpuss123
That
sounds like a nice compilation. Good score for $2, cheap even for ‘71 dollars.
