Looking for new speakers for large audio room

How do you listen? What do you listen to? Do you really need to "pressurize the whole room" to be satisfied because you need that full bass sound no matter where you are standing in the room? Or would you be content to sit closer in a more near field listening position? Have you experienced the audiophile sound you can achieve with less demanding high quality speakers in a near field experience? 

Just add in some major subs and cross 'em over at 60 hz or so.    You'll get plenty of thump.  If you really want to get it right, go with a miniDSP DDRC24 active digital crossover with DSP EQ.  Measure out the room.  You'll drop a LOT less than $30k and get a better result.

Large panel speakers in a large are just fantastic. You get an even-powered sound field and a lack of volume drop-off at distance that that makes the whole room’s sound enjoyable.
