Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Elton John - "Rock of the Westies"

Not one of Elton John’s most popular albums, but it does contain one of my all-time favorite Elton John songs - "I Feel Like a Bullet".

Joni Mitchell - "Dog Eat Dog"

Had this on CD since it first came out in 1985. Just picked it up on vinyl. Here's one of my favorites from this album:

Her violin sounds real. Real wood.  The recording is so good you can hear the nuanced tonal changes in her movements.   It’s not bright (tilted down?) but very transparent.   One of my best records.   Forgot to mention : vinyl package is especially lovely - don’t get that on the stream.

Mono / Nowhere now here

I have this album and really like it.   A LOT of sound.  It’s interesting to me to compare this record listening on my open speakers to listening to the file on headphones.   The record has more and depth and presence but on the stream it is a little easier to hear what’s going on with all the harmonics.   Glad I have the record, it’s in a very cool package.

Hilary is incredible. Have most her CD’s.

Some recorded with a pet mouse in her pocket.  She is so good.  So gifted.  But I’m preaching to the choir I know - we’ve discussed…
