Desktop Speakers
Looking for some recommendations!
I am going to do a new desktop audio setup. Still working on the components as I’ve got to mix the output from 2 PC’s for these speakers but that’s for another thread! I’m looking for small desktop speakers that can be happy against a wall with nearly no toe in. I’ll be roughly 24” from the wall and they will have a 42” separation. Narrow and not deep will be key as they will be sitting between two monitors. Budget is $1500 but cheaper is better for this setup as it’s mostly background music that will be playing.
QUESTION 1: Do you prefer active desktop speakers ( built-in amp ..direct PC or external source feed with no need for a stand-alone amp). OR ,,,, passive speakers that will driven by a stand-alone separate amplifier? QUESTION 2: speaker Dimensions HxWxD: 355 x 230 x 236mm Approx: 14 X 9 X 9.25 inches …..still too big ? |
@spenav The one and 1+1 look appealing. Would the 1+1 work against a wall? @akg_ca @elliottbnewcombjr I think about 6-7” wide is ideal. Similar depth. 9”is too much in either of those dimensions. @akg_ca slight preference for passive but am ok with active. Also the Wilson’s would be amazing but definitely out of my price range. |
