Help---What happens when a tube

Hello all--

I just came back home and notived my MHZS 66 CD player was off--Power was on! I have had the CD player on for almost a month to break it in!
Do not have extra tubes on hand yet!

Is this what happens when a 12AX7 tube blows? I am oalmost off my 30-day
trial of this player and may just have to send it back--?

Any thoughts----
Thanks,
Bob

I don't think I would leave a tubed unit on all of the time?
A good 12ax7 will last 3000 to 5000 hours. On 24/7 that will get you 4-6 months on a telefunken.
If your unit has cheapo Chinese or Russian tubes, you easily could have burnt it out. However, tubes usually die slowly-was the sound degrading over time?
Now that the unit is broken in, get a good 12ax7 and hear the difference.
Thanks------you ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE IT BUT--
MY DAUGHTER TURNED OF THAT OUTLET THAT WAS SWITCHED!

I am ready to tube roll---this is a fantastic player---
What would you try putting money aside for 12ax7's

I need to buy some different ones to try!

Thanks again,
Bob
Spend about $50 on a Telefunken and never look back. It will last years and sound great. Mullard may have a little more in the highs but less elsewhere. Amperex (Trumpeter, not cheap ones) will sound a little more "tubey" but lack a little detail.
