Why aren’t there many used cables on the market?

We know good cables are extremely expensive and used cables would seem a good thing to buy.

My dealer never has used cables and also conveyed to me that the more expensive cables carry profit margin of 80%.

So $5000 cables yield a.profit for both manufacturing dealer by $4000. Was stated that these cables arent bought very often. Mostly the cheaper cables between 400 and 900 are purchased.
Obviously not a lot of money selling used cables and I think manufacturers may not allow their dealers to sell used cables.

@curiousjim Skip the AQ Carbon and go with a DH Labs Mirage USB. The Carbon is very dull and closed in in comparison.

To the OP, there are only a few brands of cables that will offer dealers that kind of profit margin, the majority of cable manufacturers don’t price like that. But still, there are lots of cables on the market. Though you might not find the one you are specifically searching for, it will likely pop up within a month or two of watching.

But basically I find that many folks I know are too lazy to sell off cables unless they can net more than $500-$1K on them and instead collect their extras in storage bins. And the ones they can net considerably more on aren’t made in bulk as you say and don’t last on the market long unless they’re overpriced.

Go to hifishark.com — always lots of cables for sale there on multiple sites.

@curiousjim Check this USB cable out.  Separates power and data legs and much less expensive than others…

@curiousjim The only USB A to B I have is the DH Labs Mirage. It is just as good as the one I sold which cost about 10x more.
