Thank you! Yes, I would agree... the Tone Poet releases are really something quite special. I love the packaging they come in. Great attention to detail and love the photography. Quiet vinyl, great sound and great music. I love what they are doing with these reissues!
Although, as much as I love the Tone Poet, in this case I have to give the edge to my 1978 King pressing. The King just sounds so much more dynamic, fuller and more pure sounding with much more presence. I really feel like I’m there listening to the musicians live with the King. With the Tone Poet, it feels more laid back and reserved. This comparison is with playing both pressings back to back. If I didn’t have the King, I would certainly be very happy having just the Tone Poet re-issue.
Part of the fun can be collecting multiple pressings to be used with multiple systems.... using the particular pressing that best suits each system 😊
