Interesting story, I have an real nice tube amp Harbeth analogue system setup which is great. I ordered a Magnepan LRS for the goof a while back. Got it like 5 months later didnt think twice as it was put aside. I needed a cheap amp and DAC for an inceiling kitchen system. Ayimya ao7 $90 and a topping E30II $150. I hooked them up to Maganepan and I was shocked at how good it sounded. How is this possible?
I ordered 2 more A-07 amps for a surround sound, because they sounded so good (like neutral).
I dont get it.... I have heard very expensive systems 70K+ . Are we being ripped off. I am not comparing the two so lets not go down that road....but what gives....
Some believe that the speakers make more of a difference than the amp.
It is a pretty decent amp. And it’s really good for $70.
It is a no brainer to try one, and it says something that you indeed tried it.
Itis certainly better than no amplifier, and makes music just fine if the speakers do not have a wildly difficult impedance to drive.
To me it makes a lot of sense to use that amp and a decent speaker and preamp if one is on a budget… and maybe even if one is not on a budget.
