Unless it has been run over by a car it is repairable! That dealer just doesn't want to be bothered to fix it! Say good riddance to him! If the problem is a dead laser replacements can be found on the 'Net. If the problem is a dead chip, cap or resistor those too are available. Send it to a reputable tech shop like Audio Classics in Vestal, NY.
Ayon CD-5s
I have an Ayon CD-5s that's DOA! It died about 10 hrs after being serviced at the Ayon dealer in Scottsdale. As a precaution, I had sent it in for new tubes and had the laser laser drive replaced. It reads "no disk" when powered up. Shipped it back to AZ again and was told it's unable to be repaired. I imagine it might be worth something to someone, heck the remote cost 350.00 to replace. Question, what to do with it?
Should i list it here or Ebay or just toss it?
Thank you.
