The S5 is a class A solid state player, the S6 is a tube hybrid. The S5 has more extension and bass weight, but the S6 has a warmer sound with more midrange presence and a bigger soundstage. The S8 should be here any day, the matching pre and amps are already shipping.
Vincent CD-S5?
Anyone heard or own the CD-S5? Plenty of comment out there on the S6, but can't find much on the S5.
(At Audio Advisor, S5 list is $350 more than S6.)
Also, BTW, I notice on the Vincent website that an CD-S8 is coming "soon".
