Can I connect a DC power supply to Line 6 Micro Spider with AC "port"?

So I (am totally new to this, just got a Squier guitar) ordered a Line 6 Micro Spider amp, usee, and without the cables. I bought a DC 9V 2A power supply, only to notice from the pics (the amp is yet to arrive) that it said AC. I asked at the store where i bought the power supply, and the guy who worked there told me it was ok to plug thr DC power cable to the AC "port" of the amp, but I am not completely sure about it. Anyone has experience with something similar?

That doesn't sound right! If the amp doesn't have a DC connector you should only use the AC inlet with an AC cord into a wall outlet.

If you are wanting to carry around a DC power supply for portability, you might need to get an all in one lithium battery and inverter charger. You will want a true sine wave inverter. But you can get a small unit to take with you outdoors and power your amplifier.

The manual says AC...

PX-2 Power Supply Input
Only use a Line 6 PX-2 power supply
when powering your Micro Spider using
the AC IN connection.
