Look promising good reviews from what I'm reading so far can't seem to find one anywhere though where can I get one?

There's one on AliExpress for 56 bux ... Id stick with Schitt or Rogue

SUGGEST you look for a used Audio Research pre-amp.  There is a reason that their early ones sell for many dollars.  I was able to buy an SP-6B for around $800 and it is amazing.  You may have to look a while or raise your budget a few dollars, but you will be very pleased if that is the sound you are looking for.  They have produced the industry standard pre-amps (not EVERY one) for almost 50 years.
