The Good Stuff

There are simply two kinds of music, good music and the other kind ... the only yardstick by which the result should be judged is simply that of how it sounds. If it sounds good it's successful; if it doesn't it has failed. --  Duke Ellington

This purpose of this thread is to provide a place to post outstanding examples of the Good Music.

You may be interested to know that “Dance to the Music” is one of only two or three Pop or Funk songs to feature the clarinet (!). Great stuff!

Mozart 35 / Bohm

I have that CD.  One of my favorite conductors.  His Beethoven's 9th with Norman and Domingo is my favorite performance of that symphony.  Probably because it is as slow as molasses in the winter time.

Cheers.

JAZZ HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR

Verve 1998

Notes : ..There are many more young Jazz musicians who are capable of carrying the music forward and insuring that it stays alive and vibrant. Insuring that it remains pure and unadulterated. Insuring that the masters have not sacrificed and dedicated their lives to this music in vain. Long live Jazz in its pure and unadulterated form.  -- Horace Silver

Silver’s final studio album.
