mccormick sst1 vs meridian 500 transport

Does anyone have any experience between the two. I cuurrently own the mccormack but was wondering if purchasing a 500 would be considered an upgrade?

The McCormack has better dynamics and bottom end extension and a more forward presentation. The Meridian is smoother and more liquid but like the 24 bit dac is smaller sounding. The McCormack is closer to the Theta Basic transport in sound.
