Wayne Kramer of the MC5 Passed Away

I never got to see them live and it’s one of my biggest regrets.  RIP Wayne and keep KICKING OUT THE JAMS!

You are so right.    I believe there is only 1 band-member left that is still alive, or maybe two.  I missed seeing him the last time he was out my way.   They were way ahead of their time and made mistakes like having Lenny Sinclair be their manager and spokesperson.  I also read Wayne’s book, “The Hard Stuff” and it tells you everything about the band, the music and drugs.  

I was unfamiliar with this band so fired up the Kick Out the Jams album on Qobuz. Interesting stuff, way more energy than what I normally listen to with my morning coffee :)

Terry Gross of "Fresh Air" recently aired an  old interview with him if anyone is interested.
