Solid state amp vs tube amps

Is there a noticeable difference in the sound quality of Tube amplifiers vs solid state amplifier?

I have always used tube amps all my life but recently started looking for a solid state amp because of the growing unreliability of currently made tubes. There are some solid state amps that can make tube enthusiasts happy because they will sound a bit like "tube amps", but the problem is the price, as you have to pay considerably more for a good solid state amp than for a decent tube amp. For me, for example, Vitus Audio SIA - 025 is a wonderful amp I could replace my tube amp with any time, but the price is very high.

I’ve had the Pass XA25 for 4 years. My speakers are 100dB and could be driven by a small watt amp but I like this sound. 3D sound stage, quick, clean, natural and easy to listen. This amp is made without the usual 2nd harmonic distortion signature that Pass usually has(correct?). Single ended and plenty of power. Note: I use a passive preamp so it is all the amp that makes this nice sound. I have been tempted to try a tube amp but wouldn’t want to spend a lot of money so I doubt it would "beat" the Pass in my system.  Another consideration is tubes.  Since we have banned Russia this has pushed valve prices up.  I saw a pair of tubes the other day for $2500 or so.  I know you don't have to spend that but I don't really want to fiddle with my equipment all the time.

I have been a Solid State Amp Person for 50 some years...I have Tinnitus so I always wondered what the big deal was on tube amps and if I could still hear the musical details that are in music tracks...And having decent speakers I decided to try a tube amp from Raven Audio..First a black hawk and it sounded really sweet but lacked what I was looking for but still had drawn me into tube amps ..Raven sent  tubes for Black hawk that allowed even more sound that I could  hear from this tube amp venture... I decided to order Osprey Amp and with little more power and was even more drawn into this music listening than ever before..And More tube selection available to me through Raven Audio for 5 years of ownership of osprey...I had also purchased Raven Audio top Corvus Speakers 4 years ago.. I started with a pair of pre production 5" speakers they were designing and had them a month and told them I still wanted my room to sound  fuller ..Do not get me wrong these 5 inch speakers produced more detail than I ever heard from any solid state amp..So Raven Audio James Cornell Said they had 7 " Corvus he would allow me to try...`They arrived and I have not ever looked back on how these speakers filled my room with just sweet detailed music that I never heard and instrustmental sound never heard even with my tinnitus...So 5 years with osprey and Corvus speakers and 72 yrs old I wondered could there be more that I could hear ???? So Dave Thomson of Raven Audio said he would offer  a trade in on my old Osprey and wheels started turning..took me 2 months to place order and few months later a Relection Amp showed up and it was massive compared to Osprey...My first impression was not over whelming but it had something Osprey did not and it was punch power but still lacked detail..Called Dave and he sent KT88 tubes out to replace 6550 tubes and he said give it a month or two to break in...I will say it took 6 weeks of playing and I will tell you I am a very happy Reflection tube Amp owner and will never look any farther than what I have now at my age and what this unit produces in music sound to My ears..But I will say this not every track/song sounds pure coming from my Reflection..98 % of what I play is just pure magic to my hearing,,, Some songs how they were recorded  just do not sound correct and come out with to much bass or some just lack detail or to much tremble in sound... this is where you would take these songs and place them to the side and sometime do a tube change to get better quality from these songs..It is not a perfect world but when you find a sound that pleases your senses of music you listen to and still get blown away what you hear and never heard a note or instrument coming from the speaker ever before from this track of music over the years of listening to it..So yes years of wondering and now a  happy tube amp listener..
