My Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable died...what to do?

This is the 2nd time in a couple of months that my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable won't turn when I turn it on. The platter sits still.

I unplugged it, lifted the platter and re-set the rubber band, waited a while, plugged it back in, and its worked since then.

Now, dead, again.

It's about 9 years old. Should have a lot of life. It's making no sound.

I'm looking for advice/experience. thank you.

I'm getting good feedback/response directly from Pro-Ject, at support@pro-ject.zendesk.com

They sent me a link to buy the power supply as step 1. $36 which includes a 10% discount.

And they sell the motor for $100 plus tax & Shipping if I end up needing that.

I'd have to pay a repair shop to put the motor in, and we have an official Pro-Ject repair ctr. in my city.

So, we'll see if it's the power supply or motor. Even if it's the motor it'll still be a lot cheaper than a new Pro-Ject or Rega or Fluance.

And I put a Goldring cart on this one and I like the sound.

Thanks for the advice!

Really? Why so?

I've been always thinking that cleaning fixing motor is a lot more sophisticated than just placing a new one in.

Telling me to Lube the Motor  -

do you want to tell me exactly how to do that w/ my specific unit?

What to use, how much, where and how to do it?
