VICTORFABIUS' Sales Here Are Scams

And yes, you read my username right.

What seems to be happening is:

1. Someone with a Victorfabius name lists an item here for sale, but not on Head-Fi

2. They have no selling feedback here

3. Interested parties that contact Victorfabius here are told to check Head-Fi for positive feedback for Victorfabius

4. The icon for Victorfabius here and on Head-Fi match

5. If the sale completes, nothing is shipped and the buyer is out their money


Despite the claims and the copied profile icon, Victorfabius from Head-Fi does not claim to have an Audiogon account. It's on their Head-Fi profile.

I urge you to avoid purchasing from users that have "Victorfabius" in their name: this is a scammer. Include me in that list!


If you have concerns, please reach out to Victorfabius on Head-Fi to confirm before any money changes hands. Expect delayed responses because Victorfabius isn't always online and isn't frequently logged in.

if alphabetically ordered, victorfabius1 is after victorfabius.

i suspect that if you create any other ID the one preceding your ID can possibly be created. All it takes is to take any user ID and remove the last character. That’s what spy bots do and then actual human user collects the harvested user IDs to build scams.

one of such example is to remove last character from gmail and it will give you the site domain gmai.com located in Beliz specifically for collecting information from gmail members.

the best remedy for that is exactly what i do: I don’t purchase neither sell from internet.

my SOLID IT background just would not allow me to do that.

All online purchases are a risk.  The less robust and structured the sales platform is, the higher the risk.

I doubt anyone considers this particular platform is the most structured and robust.
