Burmester 218.....

I am glad to see Burmester is being talked about on these forums, they are superb gear in my opinion.

if you haven't had the chance to hear the 218 do yourself a favor and take a listen, I started my Burmester journey with a 956mk2, upgraded to a 911mk3, upgraded to the 216 and have now settled on the 218

going up a level with each amp they all got better, more dynamics, deeper/wider soundstage better control, you name it, drastically better.  the speed and dynamics of the 218 is as good as I have heard in quite some time

just wanted to share some of my journey and joy of owning Burmester, highly recommend.

ckr1969,

and if you really want to improve the sound of your system check out the Townshend podiums they go underneath the speakers and they stop the vibration from going from the speakers into the floor and back into your speakers and into your other equipment they isolate down to three Hertz the improvement is so great It's as if you upgraded your electronics it'll take your system to a whole new level and you won't even have to spend another $50,000 on another amp this improvement will be far better and they definitely don't cost as much as an amplifier but the improvement will be better than adding another amplifier.

thecarpathian,

that's what happens when you're in a good union, I was making $25 an hour back in 2000, and my last year before retirement I was making $35 an hour in 2021.

ckr1969,

and you definitely could make improvements by upgrading your cables I looked at the company and all they're using is copper but unfortunately it's not the best copper, The best copper for audio is OCC single crystal which is been proven now for over 50 years to be far superior to OFC which is what the company that you're using uses that's the cheapest wire out there and you're paying through the nose for cheap wire I can't believe when I saw the prices how big of a rip off this company is for using such cheap wire I think you should do your research a little bit better and you'll find out that OCC single crystal silver and copper is far Superior than what you're using now.

@zuesman  I really appreciate the advice, here some for you, you may want to spread your speakers a littler further apart, they will image better, I would also look at replacing your esoteric, excellent brand but aurender/dcs/new esoteric will kick its ass, you may also look at replacing the sim amp/pre with boulder, angostino, ch, solution, gryphon, etc much better amps/pre, you should really do your research before giving others advice, just a thoughtsmiley

ckr1969, did you see the picture of my room I can't spread them out any further unfortunately because the minimum that monitor audio suggests the speakers to be from the sidewall is 3 ft I've already got them a foot and a half away from the sidewall if I push them out farther I'll lose my outside imaging.
