I too really like Radio Paradise. They point me in the right direction when it comes to "new" music.
How do you decide what to listen to? Same old stuff?
I have trouble deciding which movie or ice cream I should buy. Wine decisions are also challenging.
And then I sit down with Quobuz and surf through stuff hoping to find something wonderful to listen to - it's really hard. Lots of really nice pictures but that doesn't help. my time is Limited and I don't wanna make bad decisions it takes a lot of time to listen to music. I have a wide variety of stuff I've listened to previously but I don't wanna keep listening to the same old stuff all the time.
I love it when others give examples of what they've listened to so I've written down those a few times and it works out.
So many music choices, so much to choose from.

Wonderful suggestions. I like roon radio and have a lifetime membership. I should give it more of a chance to inspire me. That's a lot of music you listen to. How much of you listen to is new versus old. Must be very deep reservoir. I would imagine you revisit the deep areas quite a bit since it probably relates to the 60s 70s which is where most of the value is. |
I do recall there are actual Radio stations available via roon, classical stuff comes to mind, that are surprisingly good.. Actual radio stations still exist out there and a lot of from foreign countries and the quality is very very good. of the 300 or so albums I have in my library on roon, and so many are classics from the past. They are amazing listening but I do acknowledge and admit that I'm tiring of some of the stuff as good as it is and was. That's OK I think. It's hard to admit that to myself at times it feels a bit like sacrilege.

@emergingsoul I listen to about 25% new and the rest oldies. I tend to go by genre or time period. I go on benders where I may listen to soul music from the early 70's or alternative from the 90's. Heavy Metal has also made a surprising comeback and that is usually 70's and 80's. I also listen to a lot of music out of Africa. In my lifetime there has never been a better time to listen to music I am so lucky that I have great gear to listen, but even if I did not, the amount of music available is incredible.
