I have both EP15 and SP15 and had issues with EP15 back in 2009 that were repaired through warranty. Caps, boards. There was an post from someone that said you shouldn't plug the sp15 into the ep15 contrary to the manufacturers direct instructions. I have run mine both ways without out issues.

one reason for mine lasting as long may be due to the fact I don't turn my system off. As an EE by trade, electronics are stressed by power on power off.
