Yamaha NS5000

I decided to bring a pair home for a couple weeks to decide if they’ll agree with my ears. I’m starting with the Mac c49 pre and mc611’s power, streaming tidal thru roon and an affordable project pre box s2 digital. Balanced audioquest interconnect and kimber 4tc speaker wire, the old blue ones.

Initial impressions are they definitely have a sweet spot ( I moved the Blades out of the way) and in my room sound a bit hard. Fast and tight much like the persona 7f I owned for a bit.

packaging is smart and I’m going to listen for a bit and report later.

I agree everything you just posted. Including my experience with krell electronics.  There were some tracks I played the other night that equalled or at least came close to the blades, I was pleasantly surprised. The more I listen the more I notice. 

Regarding the VA's a thread on this forum mentioned a bad batch of coax drivers that ran $2500 each,add that to current distribution issues and I was trying to talk myself out of them despite being a sucker for their house sound

you have the tweeters on the inside or outside?

Inside, because the tv room has an inside corner that will necessitate that anyhow and is how Yamaha recommends setup I went with it.
