Any Consultation available to set up a system with used equipment

My home is 1 hr from Baltimore airport on the eastern shore over the Chesapeake bay bridge and my interest is in used equipment for value as well as not having an unlimited budget ......I would like to try some McIntosh amps and preamps ......i remember my  Dad's tube Amp and old JBL speakers

 I understand your situation.  My advice is to identify Dealers who are in your vicinity and sell the brands you own and ask for quotes on consultation services for optimal set-up for your components.  It sounds like you believe you own high quality pieces, but you do not yet have the listening experience you expect after all your attempts.
