Caveat about the Cable Company return policy

I naively thought they had a liberal return policy and bought a few ethernet cables thinking I could return them if they didn't work out for me. Turns out in the fine print of the return policy you can only return interconnect and digital cables that are 1 meter and speaker cables that are 8 feet. Anything else is by their definition "non-standard" and therefore non returnable. That is despite the fact they have numerous lengths you can choose from their drop down menus and the company I bought from (Chord) lists the 5 meter cable I bought as a standard length,

here's the kicker.. you can only return speaker cables that are 8 feet but they sell them by the meter, so it is impossible to return an 8 foot speaker cable because they don't sell any. Lesson learned, read the fine print

I'm sorry to read of so many negative experiences. Mine have been uniformly positive, including my returning a cable today that was weeks overdue. They were very understanding about the circumstances (a death) and never sent an email or text requesting the cables back.

I deal with Steve, who is very knowledgeable about music as well as cables. I can't speak to the others who work there. Followup is very important and it appears that that is failing.

....they are NOT the same company to deal with any more. Peter who I liked is now gone wouldn't stop pushing Synergistic Cables which I explained to him many times I did not like Synergistic Cables. I recently asked to '' borrow '' a used cable on their list and I was told after doing a lot of business with them for almost 34 years that they do loan out used cables !! What .....??? I was probably going to buy it anyway ....Nope !!! I am done with them and NOT the same company back in the early nineties when Robert Stein owned that company and they were good to deal with.

Agree not the same company today. A few bad experiences so will not deal with them anymore.
