Just love seeing mystery boxes and cabinets. It’s fascinating. Sure they design these things in mystical ways and then put a few thousand dollars of components inside and then market the hell out of them, and somehow they’re able to find people willing to spend 40 - $60,000 for just one mystery box for their audio System. And they do all this without really explaining what they are selling.

Of course the more you spend its likely you will have a better sounding system that you may or may not like and then you’ll spend more. Willingness to spend $30,000 or more to embellish the feeling of greater harmonics soothing through your soul is amazing and they take advantage of it.

I like my system it does an amazing job for me.

Jay is a pioneer who offers encouragement for those desperate people purchasing audio gear and have no idea what they’re doing. 

I guess wealthy people live in Texas.  People with lots of money spend a lot of money on this higher end gear which jay loves. And quite frankly most of us do.  The days of pretending A $200,000 speaker and an oversized amplifier is appropriate for placement inside a garage are over.

Rossano Rubicondi has never owned a yacht, but I read that he makes one heck-of-a pizza.

Oh, I get it. A guy is Italian or has an Italian name and where you're from that makes him like...a pizza maker, yes?

His last video he talks about visiting a recently widowed woman that has callled him to buy her now deceased husband’s very high end audio gear.  They can’t make a deal, he ends up slamming her for being super rich and unwilling to pay the price he offers her.  You need to see this video to understand what a pompous Ahole this guy is.  Rich or not, stubborn or not , it was her deal to make , she refused , he ends up blaming it on her wealth status attitude.
 

 My answer to that is, they don’t get to that point in life  by being taken by bad deals. 🤑

I saw the video you were referring to and I thought it was very interesting he actually showed the interior of the home and some amazing speakers with a bunch of very powerful McIntosh amplifiers. A really really lovely home.

I understand the point he was making but the rationale as to how he was explaining it was terribly unclear and not very well focused. The lady wanted 80% of retail price to get rid of all her husbands old equipment and frankly her husband should’ve paid 80% to get all this gear.  jay should’ve explained to her that the original profit markup on these Products is probably 50% and this is now used gear and in the used gear market you’ll only be able to get no more than 50% if you’re lucky and also given the level of work Jay was going to do to patch up holes etc. Was a nice deal for the lady and that’s where the stupidity is for this lady she didn’t understand the rationale and he was doing a very poor job of explaining it to her.  So really nice deal for him and for her could not occur.

Estate sales are a wonderful place to get gear if you can get Lucky but it’s difficult to be aware of these undertakings which is sad.  

Yes, maybe?  But the speakers alone were worth the extra effort!  Oh well.
