Moerch DP-8 tonearm?

Anyone using a Moerch DP-8 tonearm? Just bought one, but I hear a noise like a hum when I increase the volume when listening to records in my turntable with this new tonearm. This hum-like noise occurs with different cartridges and different tonearm cables. And does not happen with other tonearms. The phono preamp is the same for the other tonearms. The tonearm is very well fixed to the tonearm base. And the noise only occurs when I increase the volume. What would be the possible causes?

I have run the van den hul xgw/Moerch DP8 combo - you need the Blue Arm wand - effective mass 14g. The other wands are too light.

I did find the DP8 arm tube sensitive to touch, microphonic but no feedback issues.

Personally I did not find the arm to be as good as claimed in the audio reviews. We went from that to a Kuzma 4point11 which was a level up in performance - with a variety of top cartridges. The van den hul had to be tweaked by van den hul for the higher effective mass of the Kuzma ( 18g ).

The DP8 is quite tricky to set up correctly - if I recall correctly the manual can be a little misleading in the set up of the outrigger weights.

Portoalegro, apart from the good points made by Dover, I can only guess that even the 14g effective mass of the wand is not quite sufficient for those cartridges, though if your ZYX is anything like my Universe in terms of compliance, it’s not in the super low compliance category. Still, 14g would normally place that arm wand in the medium effective mass category. Your adding 7g would bring EM up to 21g, which is apparently “just right”.
