Sound level meters in smart phones?

I downloaded a sound level meter ( a free app) on to my smart phone (HTC). How accurate are these sound level meters ? Thanks....

I have a couple apps that I like to experiment with at work. Pretty much all of them are reasonably accurate up to about 105dB, I think it is.
