If some set of threads is very loose then PTFE tape might indeed be indicated. I may try that on my speaker spikes, thanks! If the threads are well and tightly machined then Ralph's Loktite suggestion makes sense to me. Horses for courses?

I think what happened with this thread was that Doug fell in love with the Talea, understandably, and he was the driving force here. Plus, there are only so many accoutrements that one can remove from the Triplanar before one is left with a bag of parts and no tonearm.Lew, we did indeed fall in love with the Talea - unquestionably a step above - but our budget has gone in other directions in the last few years. Our TriPlanar is still in situ, playing as well as ever. It's currently my lawn mower that's a bag of parts! ROFL
