Good phono stage for Clearaudio Ambient solo

I'm running a Dynavector 20XH into my Denon AVR-A100, and the sound is acceptable when the volume is between -15 to 0, but still lacks a bit of punch and life, maybe a good phono stage would compliment this setup?
I use tube amps for my guitars because the dynamics are just plain better than solid state to my ears, but I'm not convinced that a tube pre-amp is the way to go here.... any sugestions would be welcome
