High end cartridge made in USA?

Anyone know of a high end a'phile MC cartridge that is made in the USA? or for that matter in the UK or anywhere else besides Japan, Holland and maybe Switzerland. Is Clearaudio still made in Germany?
Does the US and the UK not have the manufacturing ability to make quality low output MC's? If so, why are they not?

Grado makes moving iron cartridges, not low output moving coils. Soundsmith does the same at a wide range of prices and is also built in the US. I am not aware of any current MCs that are manufactured in the US, but Rega makes the Apheta low output MC in the UK and just released an updated version.

Goldring is made in England. Grado is one of the last home
grown left but it is not a MC. Even Shure is made in Mexico! I
don't think any MC was ever made here!
