Shunyata Cable tightness on Hydra 8

I just purchased a Hydra 8 and a 20 amp Python helix alpha cord from a local dealer.

I question whether there is a possible problem with the Cord or the 20 amp inlet in the back of the Hydra.

The cord does not have what i would call a tight fit.

There is about a quarter inch of movement up and down.

From left to right there is a good half inch of movement.

Is this normal?

A while back Shunyata posted a notice to be sure that their cords are pushed all the way in.

When inserting them in, they seem to be all the way in, but give them an extra little shove, you may feel them go in another extra 1/4" or so.
Everything seems to operate Ok, but the sound is not as "snappy" as it shoud be. Check the Shunyata cords from time to time.
Some are and some are not exceptionally tight fitting.

Try adding some heat shrink onto the supply cord IEC end in layers... it'll come off pretty readily if so desired later on.
Thanks

I have given the cord an extra shove(a few times). Everything is operating ok.

I may add some electrical tape to the supply cord IEC end to firm it up a bit.
Adol,

If you decide to add tape, instead of electrical tape try teflon tape (like used for plumbing). That way, if you later decide to remove the tape, there is no gummy reside left on the IEC, the way there would be with electical tape.
Thanks
