Convert speaker cables to interconnects? ?

Just curious if anyone has ever converted speaker cables to interconnects and if they were pleased with the results? Any reason not to do this?? Thanks, Bill

Not sure how you would be able to provide the shielding which is necessary for an interconnect, or how you would connect the heavy gauge speaker wire to an rca connector. Also, low capacitance can be important in an interconnect, depending on length and on the output impedance of the component which drives the cable, but the speaker cable might very conceivably have capacitance which is high and/or unspecified.

I think a better route to get better sound result is going from SC to P/C rather than from SC to IC.
Many manufacturers use the very same cable for IC's and speaker cable. I have successfully converted several cables in both directions.

It can be done and sometimes even works.

Why do it? I have good speaker cable and need longer IC's.
