Cable Breakin

Just received a pair of HiDiamond 8 speaker cable. Out of the box they seem to be very laid back and lacking presence. Do these cables change with breakin and how long does breakin typically take?
arh
Arh HD cables do take a while to break in. They will change dranatically durning the 1st 500hrs. I have a little over 400hrs on my HiDiamond 8 and layed back and lacking presence thier not. Hang in there.
I have now found that after 4 days and 16 hours there has been a total change in presentation for the better. I am thinking that the problem may be that these cables were shipped from Italy to Canada to New york and finally to me in Texas. They had to be subjected to a lot of temperature extremes and a lot of vibration. It probably took a few days to settle in. Does this make sense. Now if they continue to improve they will be spectacular

it is well known that electrical fields around the cable settle in with the new environment as well

I am sure someone else can explain this better than me...

4 days and 16 hours seems about right

I have been an audiophile for 60 years and have purchased many cables and have never experienced such a radical change in the sound of a SC. In fact have always found little or no breakin for any cables. Just reporting what I heard with these cables
