You know you're an audiophile if--

You just got a pair of speakers you can barely move yourself (inverse proportionality with age probably too)

The first house you bought cost less than your current stereo investment (ditto)

You have boxes of cables with which you don't know what to do

Czar, I may disagree but I never get offended.
25 years in Europe gave me European sensibilities.
Any bunch of Germans, Italians or Frenchman can argue like
hell all day and half the night and all are still good friends ready to do the same tomorrow.
Americans are much more sensitive because they spend their
whole lives in self-censorship and fear.
You keep wondering if, indeed, you really ARE an audiophile, and if so, what precisely does that mean?
Schubert, Czar isn't exactly Russian autocrat, it comes from C-zar or Ceasar which is somewhat Latin.
Yes, I know the root word Czarivey.

In English autocrat means, an absolute ruler, implies a despot, dictator.
At one time I had access to German Army film archives.
Worse thing I have ever seen, and I was a combat infantry man myself, was Nicholas II sending 12-13
year boy soldiers across open fields against German machine
gun emplacements. Many had no rifles but were instructed to
pick up ones from the dead.
One clip showed a German gunner with tears steaming down his face as he slaughtered them.Still have nightmares of it.
