DVD vs. LD visually.

I'm about to get some DVD player(only visual quality I do care for) and think about getting some DVD collection. I have LD player and certainly small LD collection of my favorite Holywood and none-Holywood movies. Does it make a sence to sell my LD player with collection and get DVD?

Keep them both. There is no reason not to keep the LD player is there? I have found I own several films that aren't on DVD yet including many concerts, like Pink Floyd. To answer the question you posed, DVD does beat LD for picture quality. Sound quality is another story and I would give the edge (in my set-up) to LD. Anyway, take the best of both worlds.
Definitely keep both. Depends on the movie. I find some movies are worse on DVD compared to LD, probably because of the compression to get a long movie on one side of the DVD with all the extra features.
yeah, i find that on some ld's, the colors are truer. plus, ld's never suffer from pixellation.

it just depends on the quality of the video transfer. some of my dvd's blow their ld counterparts out of the water.

as far as sound goes, my ld player sounds marginally better with DD.
I AGREE THAT YOU SHOULD KEEP BOTH, I LIKE LAZER BETTER ,TO ME IT GIVES ME A BETTER PICTURE THAN THE DVD.I REFUSE TO PURCHASE MOVIES ON DVD THAT I HAVE ON LAZER AT HOME.
