CEC modifications - do they work?????

Hi

I have some experience with the CEC TL1x, Parasound cdp-2000 and Parasounds drive 2000. Sound are very similar to each and another, but they have a common weak side which I can not live with - bass production estimated between 80-120 cycle. My question is, have anyone experience with mods which can solve this problem???

Otherwise, I love the sound from these belt driven cd players. They're not detailed like a Sony, but I play horns, so I do not care.

Thanks, Tadman

I know that Francisco aka Psychicanimal had Dan Wright modify and maybe even cryo his CEC based belt drive transport. I know that he was very happy with it after that. From what i can recall, he had mentioned something about the unit lacking PRAT prior to the mods. Sean

I have a TL2X which I had modified by Reference Audio Mods. Totally worth every penny.

Are you willing to share what you experienced in comparison to the before and after. I also have a TL2 and would be most interested in hearing you comparison.
Mo better all around. The bass was definitely better but the the whole thing was more musical and present. Takes a LONG time to break in.
I recommend speaking to Richard Kern if you have questions. He did my mods and was very helpful and knowledgeable.
