Jeffrey,
I am very curious as to what CD player you had the problem on. I feel better knowing that I am not the only one with this problem. I have sent a letter of complaint to Ted Cohen, EMI Music, Senior VP, DIgital Development, as he is involved in their anti-piracy measures and I am anxious to hear his response. It would appear that Sony-BMG has recently brought out another type of Copy control, that limits school yard sharing. I have yet to try any recent BMG releases to see if I have trouble with them as well. I am also waiting to hear back from emmlabs to see if there is anything they can do (e.g. firmware upgrade that may eliminate the problem). For now, it is nice to know I can use CloneCD to make duplicates without the dreaded copy protection layer. What a scam, buy the disc, make sure before you buy that you can return it if necessary, then test it, and return (only after I make a clone with CloneCD. I am so pee'd off with EMI, that although I am an honest guy who doesn't steal or share music, I am tempted to give copies to all my friends of the CloneCD version. They must be more accountable to consumers like me, who are only trying to support them, but expect RedBook standard CD's.
