In this hobby, you live the two irrefutable paradigms:I would respectfully refute irrefutable paradigm no. 2. One reason among many being that I see no reason to assume that the higher materials cost and build quality that presumably (and hopefully) drive product cost will necessarily translate into better sonics, rather than being pointless overkill.
(1) everything is built to it's pricepoint; and
(2) you get what you pay for.
If you really expect to step down to your indicated new "cheap" price point, and you still expect to meet (forget about exceed IMO) the performance and build quality of the Neutrik Profi, and somehow defy Or ignore these facts.... Good luck to you.
Especially in the case of something like a connector (assuming it is for an analog application), where aside from establishment of good contact (which can certainly be achieved at modest cost) there is not a well-established understanding of why, how, or when differences in materials cost and build quality might affect what is heard.
