Preamp advice

I'm considering a preamp change. I'm thinking about a used ss preamp. I'm looking for something under $1000 that is very detailed and has a very low noise floor. Any suggestions?

This is by far the best solid state pre-amp I have ever heard and if you can find them on the used market they go for a little over $1000. You are essentially getting Conrad Johnson ART or Mark Levinson Reference performance for like 1/15 the cost.

It runs about $1199.00 new and sounds great for the money. Me and 3 others did have the chance to hear the difference between the S-33 and the X-1 Pass labs preamp and all agreed we thought the S-33 sounded a little better overall.. There will always be matter of option , but we all thought it did sound a little more impressive.. Good luck on your search, Dave
