Line, I did Google your phrase and then ended up reading a long interview with Deepak Chopra. Here is a quote from his discussion that I thought was most relevant to our discussion of the Clever Little Clock:

But the next step in the evolution of this knowledge is to understand that it is not just information, it is intelligence, it is knowledge, it is consciousness. The force fields of nature are force fields of consciousness."
